Hey Fuzzy Lemons.. We both have a song called 'To The Moon.' Can we not have a space race kinda cold war style and see who can get their song played on the moon first?!?! I did send our version to NASA but heck I got no reply.
Hey!! Loved meeting you too! Don't forget where I am from.....somewhere outside of Philly. How is it you were standing near me every time I met someone new. Too funny! Fun hanging out, wish I could've stayed on Saturday.
Hope to see you guys at a show sometime!! Maybe even outside of Philly;)
Yes, I recorded all the music for Little Firefly at home on my 300 year old mac using GarageBand, but what it sounded like before Dan mixed it pales in comparison with how it sounds now. He did an amazing job mixing, eq'ing, nipping and tucking. He's really amazing. Same with Kangaroo... he really improved the quality of what I had recorded, and also added some piano trills that classed it up. Annie's bg vocals also add a more professional quality to the production.
Plus, watching him fix-n-mix To The Moon, I noted all the tiny little things that make a huge difference in the final output. Things like manually lining up the rhythm notes, for example. It never occurred to me to do that before I watched Dan do it on TTM. So, I used midi to record the bass parts and then spent hours and hours lining up the notes so they matched the drum beats. I STILL didn't get them all perfect, but what I learned from Dan made a big difference and saved TONS of time during the mixing.
The vocals were first recorded at home, but then we re-recorded all of them at the Vault, which made an enormous difference. Not just in the quality of the mic, but also having someone to coach me on the performances, and the ability to comp bits together into a better sounding performance. Dan is awesome.
Anyway, thanks - it means a lot that you guys like the songs. I'm going to keep working in this way over the next year, and would definitely encourage you guys to start laying down tracks at your place and then work with Dan for the final mixes. I'd love to hear new Lemons tunes!

Thanks! We're pumped, it looks great!
Curriculum: I like to teach through songs everyone already knows. first, a one-chord round in C like row your boat.
then 2 chords, F and C7 shoo fly or something like that. then 3: C, F, G7. Perhaps You are My sunshine.
and there you go! Teach the world!
For a better and more complete curiculum look at James Hill's work. He is brilliant.
Awesome meeting you as well! Keep in touch and hope to see you again soon!
