Background

Miss Maureen has always had a zest for life and a passion for creating her own signature style of music.

Uniquely talented, she has vast experience as an infant teacher (T.I.T.C.), musician, composer, lyricist, performer and motivator of children.

Driven by a great passion to enhance the enjoyment and learning potential of children, Miss Maureen, the ‘Pied Piper’ of the 21st century, leads children on an exciting musical journey with the release of her debut album of nineteen original songs.

Miss Maureen has written more than 200 songs for young children and is excited about the prospect of translating her songs into other languages.

The Songs

Talk to ‘The Toucan’, dance with ‘Desdemona the Duck’ and laugh with ‘Lolita’ in Miss Maureen’s highly anticipated debut album, ‘I CAN YOU CAN TOUCAN!’

Miss Maureen’s compositions inspire children of all ages to sing and move to music.  Her songs are original and based on the successful formula of rhyme, rhythm and repetition.  They are addictive and compelling, and each song is woven around a quirky, central character.

Miss Maureen’s songs engage children orally, aurally and kinesthetically.  The kinesthetic component is an integral part of Miss Maureen’s program.  She believes it is highly beneficial for children to sing the words of the songs and feel the music and rhythms through movement.

The nineteen songs are available to download in either audio or action video formats or as a deluxe Educational Pack.  Included in the pack will be the nineteen songs in audio and audiovisual mediums, with actions, illustrated lyric sheets to enhance literacy and early reading, and character outlines to explore creativity.

The Music and Group Dynamics

Miss Maureen believes it is vital to nurture the musical and creative talents of children, and to provide music and songs that have the power to enhance thinking, learning and creativity.  When groups of children engage in singing, the music has an amazing and profound effect on their social, emotional and creative wellbeing, and the music and songs have the power to change the way they think, feel and behave.
