I am the mother of two amazing kids, Abby and Will, and I have been writing children's stories from the time I could hold a crayon. Until recently, I was very content to be known as a local author in Landenberg, Pennsylvania and the surrounding area... but then I received an email that changed everything. The historic DuPont Theatre in Wilmington, Delaware was looking for a "green" musical, and had chosen my latest title - It's Not Mean to be Green - to be adapted to the stage. The only catch was that I needed to write the script, write the songs, and step up to be an Executive Producer to make this story come to life. Although I was thrilled, shocked, nervous, scared, and excited all at once... I knew this was an opportunity you do not walk away from. I am proud to say that I surrounded myself with a team of talented people and discovered the career I was meant to have along the way. After a successful debut at the DuPont Theatre this April, the show is "hitting the road" in order for the music and message to reach as many students and families as possible. Not including my children, the It's Not Mean to be Green musical and cd is the most amazing thing I have ever helped to create. I have discovered my love for writing songs, and I don't plan to stop any time soon...
As TribeSound Studio and I continue to share and promote the music from It's Not Mean to be Green, we are already back in the studio working on our next project! Emily & The Backwards Tree will tackle the topic of bullying in an entertaining and educational manner. My head is already filled with the songs, and I can't wait to share them....
