Does anyone know what would be a fair price when writing music for someone else?  I'm writing music for an adventure computer game and have no idea what kind of fee to charge for it.  Hourly or total?

Any input would be great!

Thank you:)

Hey Meg, I don't really know what would be a fair price. I wrote a song for a puppet show a few years back and they paid me $250, which I was pleased with.  They gave me the outline of what they wanted and I recorded it and they used it for their shows for quite a few years.  I guess it depends on their budget, what they are hoping to earn, and whether they are friends or not.  I hope that helps. ~ Phredd
That does help, thank you.  Did you write it and did they pay for you to record it?

The total was for the writing and finished recording, which I did myself.
